I am not sure which care package, fun activities and treats to choose for my dog?

Firstly let me say that any care package you decide upon will provide your pet with comfortable holiday accommodation as all our guests (regardless of the care package chosen) enjoy the comfort of their own huge, individual well-insulated hotel room. All rooms have vinyl flooring and a comfortable trampoline bed with a snugly polar fleece blanket. Add a little music and all day access to a private grass garden yard and you have a little home away from home where your pet will feel happy, secure and well loved.

Note the ‘Luxury Pooch’ care packages include an air conditioner, human single bed and TV.

What differs from one care package to the next is the amount of one-to-one fun time with a pet carer—be it bush walks, water fun park swims or loving one-to-one play times. These fun activities can be requested in ¼ hr or ½ hr or 1 hr lots of time and they can be given once or twice or three times a day. Put simply you are trying to match the ‘care
package’ with both your budget and what you think would most suit your dog. Please visit our Care Package page for more information.

That said, it is easy to be overwhelmed with choice so if you would like to chat in person about what care package would best suit your dog, please just give us a call.

I have two dogs – one is really energetic and the other is an old boy who doesn’t need much exercise. How do you cater for both in a care package?

Our whole goal with the care packages is to provide you and your dog(s) with exactly what is needed in holiday care no matter what your dog’s age or energy level. So in this situation, I would suggest that your energetic dog be on a care package like the ‘Triple Fun’ and your older dog be on a care package such as the ‘Senior Care’. This way your energetic dog would enjoy a ¼ hr bush walk or dam swim in the morning, a full one-on-one ¼ hr play time in the middle of the day and a ¼ hr late afternoon bush walk. Meanwhile your older boy would enjoy a daily ¼ hr one-to-one love and cuddle time out in one of the big play yards.

If you wanted them to share their play time you could add their two ¼ hr play times together for a combined ½ hr play time, where we would be throwing ball for one and cuddling the other.

Note – Our senior citizens enjoy a play time just as much as a young dog as they love to have a wander around our big play yard which has plenty of trees and things to sniff and pee on.

How do the care packages work when I have two dogs?

There are a number of choices when you have two dogs, dependant upon their size and whether they are sharing their fun activity time. If your two dogs are not sharing their fun activity time, it is just the same as two individual dogs coming for a holiday stay so whatever care package you choose for each dog is what they would enjoy. If your two dogs are sharing their fun activity time, it works in the following way.

Example: If two dogs are both booked on ‘Quality Care’ which includes 1 x ¼ hr play time per day – they would actually enjoy 2 x ¼ hr play times per day as they have both purchased a play time which they can share. So they would enjoy ¼ hr play in the morning and then a ¼ hr play in the afternoon.
This works the same way with the ‘The Walkies 1’ care package, if the dogs are small enough to be walked together by one person. They would enjoy a shared ¼ hr walk in the morning and then a ¼ hr walk in the afternoon. If two people are required to walk the two dogs, it stays as just the ¼ hr walk once a day as two carers go for the walk at the same time, having one dog each to walk. You also have the option of booking one dog on the ‘Resort Care’ package (which doesn’t include any fun activity time) then that dog shares the fun activity time of your other dog, which is on an activity care package. So for example one dog on ‘Quality Care’ and one dog on ‘Resort care’ would mean both dogs enjoy a shared ¼ hr daily play time together.

Choosing a Care Package can seem a little bit challenging, particularly if you have two dogs, so if you are not quite sure of which way you would like to go, just give us a call as we are happy to chat about the different options available to you.
